HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Nickerson USD 309 School Board approved extending Interim Superintendent Dr. Jeanne Stroh’s contract for another month during Monday’s agenda session.
Stroh has been filling in for Dr. Dawn Johnson the past year while Johnson attended the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy in Washington, D.C.
Johnson has completed her coursework but was given an assignment and will be busy with that through the end of July.
The board also took time to recognize Jackie Ashcraft, who was a longtime instructor around the area. Sen. Ed Berger was behind the presentation to Ashcraft, who taught at area schools for 50 years.
