Kathleen Ann Bynum, 69, passed away on June 10, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born January 27, 1951, in Quinter, KS, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Isa E. (Teel) Rumback.
Kathleen graduated from Trinity High School in 1969 and attended Adele Hale Business College in Hutchinson. She married Gerald Lee Bynum on July 24, 1971 in Hutchinson. This union was blessed with two daughters Rebecca and Emilee and a son Matthew.
Kathy was a homemaker and later worked for Walmart Distribution Center and retired after 21 years. She enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of women’s walking club, loved singing and enjoyed her church and bible studies. Kathy loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending her time with them. She was a member of Mustang Club of Greater Kansas City and Lenexa Baptist Church.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald; daughters, Rebecca (Brad) Oshel and Emilee (José Yépez) Bynum; a son, Matthew (Hiromi) Bynum; three brothers, David (Gretchen) Rumback, Don (Karla) Rumback and Bill (Ana) Rumback; and six grandchildren, Garrett, Wyatt and Carly Oshel, Leesa and Luke Bynum and Atlas Yépez Bynum.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 E. 23rd , Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Roy Jaye officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS. Burial and committal service will take place at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, KS. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Reno County or Celebrate Recovery and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
