HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Thanks to the generosity of Eagle Radio listeners and Hutch Post readers, CASA of Reno County will receive over $5000.
Listeners and readers contributed $2638 for the Visions of Hope Radiothon last week. The Schmidt Foundation will match that contribution with its own $2638, for a total of $5276 to be contributed.
Reno County CASA is a non-profit that works directly with the court system, with the juvenile courts. Volunteers become the eyes and ears of the court and make recommendations to the court for what could be in the child's best interest.
The juvenile court system in Reno County typically hears over 300 cases of suspected abuse and neglect a year.
