
Barbara Lee Deckard, 85, of Hutchinson, KS., passed away June 7, 2020, , at her home in Hutchinson. She was born June 29, 1934, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Wilbert A. and Marion E. (Thompson) Pruitt.
Barbara went to St. Teresa’s Catholic School. On May 23, 1951, Barbara married A. B. (Jay) Parker, they later divorced. In 1975, she married Calvin J. Carithers and divorced in 1986. Later Barbara married Robert L. Deckard in Lyons, KS. He passed away on December 10, 1999. Barbara was a clerk at Dillons and before retiring in 1994 was a manager at Don’s Smokes For Less for three years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Gayland Parker; brother, Don Pruitt; two sisters, Teresa Skinner and Betty Arline Anderson; and a grandson, Travis Parker.
Barbara is survived by her stepson, Kenneth (Candy) Deckard; four sisters, MaryAnn Dick, Linda Albright, Anita Wedel and Thelma Warta; two grandchildren, Austin and Heather Parker; two great grandchildren, Cooper and Conner Deckard; five great-great grandchildren, Cynthia Teeter, Holly Parker, Shelby Self, Emily Parker, and Jayden Parker; and three great-great-great grandchildren, Miguel and Isabelle Bautista and Samuel Cortez.
Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS., with Deacon Matthew Glazier presiding. A Funeral Service will follow at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with family greeting friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Committal will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Teresa’s Catholic Church or Hospice House and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
