Meal prices increase in USD 313

BUHLER, Kan. — School meal prices will be higher for students in Buhler USD 313 after action taken by the district school board on Monday. 

The board approved a $0.10 increase at all levels. Elementary school lunches will now run $2.80, middle and high school lunches will now cost $2.95 and adult lunches will be $3.80. Extra milk prices also increased to $0.50 and breakfast prices increased to $1.60.

The board also approved casualty and workers' comp insurance for the next year. The workers' comp premium actually fell to $76,726 while the casualty insurance increased to $268,730.

Finally, the board heard a report on the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation. The district must renew the accreditation every five years and an onsite visit was recently held. The district will know if it has retained its accreditation in a couple of weeks.
