A High Wind Warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday.
West to northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to around 55 mph are expected in portions of central and south-central Kansas.
Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during very high winds, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
