HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Because of the uncertainty surrounding the now postponed protest in the city and the chance of counterprotests or other negative activity, most Reno County offices will be closed starting at noon Friday. This includes the district court and its offices as well.
County Administrator Randy Partington says that closings include the annex, community corrections and the health department. RCAT will run their normal schedule on Friday but no decision has been made about service on Saturday.
Partington says the decision to close was made early Thursday after word of the protest came out and other social media postings caused concerns for public safety.
