HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Art Center's virtual art camp, Common Creations, is underway.
"Every day this week, we're releasing a new video at 10 a.m. on our Youtube page," said Patrick Calvillo with the Art Center. "If you just go to Youtube, they're nice 10 to 15 minute videos of common creations. Things you can find around the house or things you can buy at Hobby Lobby or Walmart just to do something during this time of need for art."
The Hutchinson Community Foundation and the United Way of Reno County’s Rally Reno Nonprofit Response fund supported this project.
"The video will also give you a list of materials," Calvillo said. "It's nothing too expensive. We try to keep everything under $15. It's pretty simple for a lot of people to go out and buy materials and hopefully there's some things that you have at home to cut the cost. The main goal is trying to find things that don't cost a lot of money and we're offering these free tutorials online just to keep people excited and creative."
This is the first of two sessions being supported.
"Everything will stay on our Youtube page," Calvillo said. "We'll do this round, there's five projects. Then, in June, we're going to do it again, the 15th through the 19th. There will be five more."
Make sure to send the Center pictures through Facebook Messenger or email [email protected] so they can post your creative works on their social media outlets.
