HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A pursuit early Friday on K-61 in Reno County near Hutchinson resulted in an accident.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Reno County Sheriff's Officers were pursuing a 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by 19-year-old Gabriel S. Mackay around 2 a.m. when it ran over stop sticks placed near mile marker 58. The car veered off the roadway into the ditch, struck a guy wire for a utility pole and overturned and came to rest on its wheels facing East.
Mackay was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with a suspected serious injury. He was not buckled up, according to the KHP.
