
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man has been arrested in connection with a shooting back on Feb. 28.
Hutchinson police took 18-year-old Mathew Currie into custody on charges of aggravated battery along with two possible counts of possession of marijuana and interference with law enforcement.
Currie is believed to be the man who shot Dquanis Robertson in an apparent drug deal that went bad at the Sunflower Inn on East 4th Avenue. According to police, Robertson attempted to rob the residents when Currie pulled out a firearm and shot him in the arm. Currie then fled the scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Currie was located and taken into custody around 1:40 Wednesday afternoon.
He is being held on a $51,500 bond.
