Billy G. Whitaker, 84, passed away on May 9, 2020 at his home in Hutchinson surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1936 in Whitesburg, KY, the son of HB and Mattie (Caudill) Whitaker.
Bill graduated from Memorial High School and attended Texas A&M. In 1954 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1959. On November 27, 1975 he married Rosa Camberos in San Diego,CA. After working 30 years in the food industry, he retired from Tyson as a Plant Manager. Bill attended Grace Bible Church. He is remembered by his family as a man of faith. Bill was a man of few words but the ones he chose to share were profound. He had a faith that he shared with his family that sustains them now. Dad always walked hand in hand with God. The family is comforted in knowing that he rests in peace with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents, HB and Mattie; His sisters, Ila, Kathy; His brothers, Clarence, Arnold and Shelby, and a son, Kevin Whitaker.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa, the love of his life; daughters, Vaunelle (Scott) Alexander, Marjorie (Joe) Pribyl and Deanna (Matthew) Smith; and a son, Allen (Audry) Whitaker; a brother, Dean (Susan) Whitaker; and a sister, Eola Caudill. Grandpa Bill had 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Bart Horton presiding. Friends may sign the condolence book on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
