HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Reno County Sheriff's Office has canceled this year’s Law Enforcement Memorial in person ceremony that was originally scheduled for May 15th.

"This memorial has been a RNSO tradition for a long time and we hope to continue next year," the department said on Facebook Friday.

The department plans to post its ceremony on Facebook instead.

"We especially would like to send prayers to the Overland Park Police Department, the community he served, and Officer Mike Mosher’s family," the department said.

On the 21st day of April, 2020, the Reno County Commission signed a proclamation marking “Police Week” for Reno County as May 10th through the 16th with the actual Peace Officers Memorial Day being May 15th.
