Hospice visits Good Samaritan home

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — In this pandemic, it has been hard to keep in contact with loved ones in person. That is especially true in retirement homes.

On Friday, 11 staff from Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County sang hymns at Good Samaritan to let the residents and staff know they are thinking of them and care how they are doing during this pandemic.

Leading the singing and playing the keyboard was Occupational Therapist Barb Youmans. Chaplain Cindy Dubovich shared encouraging words and closed the event with a prayer of blessings over the residents and staff.

Brenda Janda, administrator at Good Samaritan, shared how much they all appreciated the thoughtfulness. Janda said this has been a tough time for nursing homes as they have to be so isolated and hospice staff is often limited to how much they can visit patients.
