Engineering services for zoo project part of Tuesday's Council meeting

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council has three major capital projects to consider during Tuesday's meeting. The first is a request for engineering services for an expansion project at the Hutchinson Zoo. The contract with Professional Engineering Services is $25,500.

The Council will also seek approval of a contract with Wiens and Company for the renovation of the law enforcement center. The total cost of the project is $1,559,000. It would be the first major renovation of the building since it was built in the 1970s.

And finally, the Council will consider engineering services from Burns McDonnell for an ultraviolet system at the wastewater treatment plant. The total cost of the project is $2,109,185.

The Council will also go inter executive session to discuss potential agreements with the union supporting various city agencies. Tuesday’s meeting of the Hutchinson City Council begins at 9 a.m. and will be streamed live on the city YouTube channel.
