Janet had a great life growing up in Hutchinson. Her dad was a projectionist at the Fox theater and she attended nearly all the movies and events there. After her parents’ deaths, Janet reconnected with her birth family; mother, Marie Wheeler; and siblings, Delores, Joan, Marlene, and Gary. Janet and her sisters enjoyed estate sales, rummage sales, and finding bargains.
She worked for 38 years for the Polk Co. and Wolverine Printing and Publishing, working in the camera room and was the manager of the ad room for many years before she retired.
Janet accepted Christ as her Savior at age 12 and was an active member of First Congregational Church and loved her church family. She was a very positive person and her love for Christ was strong. Janet volunteered at Cancer Council of Reno County, helping raise money. She also enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA with her close friend, Darlene, and her friends there became family. Janet also enjoyed planning her class reunions at Hutchinson High School.
In 1956, she married Kenneth Cooper. They later divorced. In 1965, Janet married John Perry and they shared 43 years of marriage before his death in 2008.
On May 7, 2016, she married Maurice ‘Mo’ Schreck and much happiness developed from that marriage. He survives.
