Herbert ‘Herb’ Warren, 81, died April 10, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 16, 1939, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to James and Eileen (McNitt) Warren.
Herb was a 1956 graduate of Pratt High School and had been a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years.
His favorite hobbies and pastimes included grilling and smoking meat, baking chocolate chip cookies, and attending Texas Tenor concerts.
On March 9, 1969, Herb married Joyce Jeannine Jacobs in Kansas City, KS. His wife of 51 years of marriage, Joyce, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mike of Haysville, and Brenda Kirkendall and husband Geoff of Lawrence; stepsons, A.V. Plank of Salina, and Todd Plank of Hutchinson; siblings, Jeff Warren, David Warren, and Kristina Cavaness, all of Thompsonville, IL; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Herb was preceded in death by: parents; son, Randy; brother, Jimmy; and Mike and Brenda’s mother, Betty Ann, on September 16, 2019.
Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life service will take place later this summer in Thompsonville, IL. Memorial suggestions are to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
