High wind watch in effect for most of Kansas

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A High wind watch is in effect for most of Kansas on Sunday as a strong cold front will push through the area. Ahead of this front strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible Saturday night.

...HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...North winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Central and South Central Kansas.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning through late Sunday night. North winds will quickly develop from west to east on Sunday as a  cold front moves through.

* IMPACTS...Scattered tree and power line damage possible.  Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strong winds may be accompanied by a  wintry mix along the I-70 corridor, causing periods of reduced visibility.
