Lowen going through furlough

Posted Apr 10, 2020 3:32 PM

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It appears Lowen Corporation is furloughing a number of employees.

Tucky Allen with Kansas Workforce One tells us the company requested a Rapid Response packet from the employment agency a week ago. Allen says the online packets were established to replace the face-to-face Rapid Response due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Allen says no specifics were given as to a number and a date. He did say most furlough notices he has received are temporary.

Officials at Lowen would not comment on the workforce reduction when contacted on Thursday. Chamber President Debra Teufel could also not comment on the matter.
