HUTCHINSON, Kan. β Hutchinson Community College Spokesperson Denny Stoecklein says the virtual classes put on by the college since the COVID-19 outbreak have been going well.
βWe already had online programs in place,β Stoecklein said. β Weβre adapting and the faculty are embracing it.β
Stoecklein says that they are also working to make sure vocational classes and other courses like nursing and fire training are able to do as much fo the work online as possible.
Most vocational classes to require physical work such as welding. Those classes are taught with minimal contact and adhere to social distancing guidelines set forth by the state. Stoecklein says some students have probably just put off classes for the rest of the year but could not give a number.
As far as finals there is still some question as to how that will be done.
βThat will be up to the faculty for finals,β Stoecklein said. β It would not be in the traditional classroom setting.β
Finals week is set for May 4th.
