HAVEN, Kan. — The Haven USD 312 School Board gave the approval to start a Pre-K three-year-old class for the district starting next year.
The class will be held at the preschool facility where the current Pre-K four-year-old school is located. The plans are to convert the single classroom area into two small ones to accommodate the new class.
Superintendent Clark Wedel says the quotes for the renovation will come before the Board during their regular meeting next Monday. Wedel says they will begin to put out more information on the class very soon.
Interest in the three-year-old class has been around for some time according to Wedel who feels that it will be a success. The district has applied for grants to help fund the program similar to the Pre-K program currently in place.
Currently, 31 students attend the four-year-old program which runs a morning and afternoon schedule.
