
Linda Rae Housh, 72, met her Lord and Savior, April 1, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 16, 1947, in Wichita, to Kenneth and June (Nighswonger) Sparr.
Linda graduated from Clearwater High School in 1965 and Wichita Business College in 1966. During high school, she was president of the Pep Club and involved in numerous musical organizations, including band, Glee Club, and Mixed Chorus. Linda was also past-president of Gamma Eta Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority. She retired from Morton Salt as a payroll clerk and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Linda was a devoted grandma, and adored all her grandchildren. When she became ill, they gave her the inspiration to continue living.
Linda met the love of her life, Lyle, when they both worked at Morton Salt. They were married October 14, 1994, and enjoyed 25 years of marriage. Lyle was Linda’s soul mate, rock, caregiver, and calming salvation.
Linda is survived by: her husband and best friend, Lyle Housh; children, Curtis Mitchell (Pam, Lynette Wilkening (John, all of Hutchinson, Shannon Housh of Auburn, GA, and Tammy Dreiling (Chris) of Commerce City, CO; grandchildren, Gregory Gonzales (Sami, Madison Mitchell, Kalei Dreiling, Tiana Smith, Tenley Wilkening, Tessa Wilkening, and Adryan Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Renae, and Ella Rae Gonzales; her mother, June Sparr; sister, Connie Craig (Larry, all of Clearwater; and Curtis and Lynette’s father, Bob Mitchell.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Sparr, and grandson, Payton Allen Mitchell.
Due to the coronavirus, Linda’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. It will be held at Westside Baptist Church. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
