NICKERSON, Kan — The Nickerson USD 309 School Board approved their waiver to the state for reducing the number of hours needed to complete the school year. The waiver eliminates about 255 hours of instruction from the required 1116.
The Board also approved paying employees through the end of June and approved classified hirings and resignations Monday.
The Board also discussed, but took no action on making improvements to the high school track and football field. The Board was in consensus to seek out a different turf company for the fieldwork. The two proposals discussed Monday night carried price tags of between $347,000 and $595,000.
