HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Health Department says that as of 11:30 a.m. Friday, Reno County now has now registered ten positive cases of COVID-19.

The newest positive case is a male in his eighties with direct contact with a previously known positive COVID-19 patient. He is in home isolation per guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Case contact investigation is underway.

Three previously confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Reno County have since completed recovery and are non-symptomatic per disease investigation guidelines furnished by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

The Health Department wanted to stress that the State of Kansas is under a Statewide Stay Home Order. This means all citizens are directed to stay in their homes unless performing an essential activity as described in Executive Order No. 20-16 signed by the Governor of Kansas.

Reno County residents are urged to be dependent on health authorities to provide the most accurate information on COVID-19 and practice good hygiene with frequent hand washing, proper respiratory etiquette such as coughing and sneezing into your elbow bend, limit handshakes and physical contact. Stay home if you are feeling ill and call your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms.
