HAVEN, Kan. — With a few technical glitches and some creative ways to get lessons going online, classes have been moving along for Haven USD 312.
The board will hold a special meeting on Monday to approve the waiver from the state for the school's learning plan. Superintendent Clark Wedel says the biggest obstacle was making sure parents and students had a handle on the technology needed to do the school work online. Wedel says teachers have also been collaborating with each other to come up with ways to better deliver the lessons.
As far as graduation rates, Wedel says they will still require students to have 24 credits to graduate. Wedel says most seniors already have the necessary 24 credits to graduate. He said any special circumstances that could keep a student from reaching the 24 credits would be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Monday’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed online.
