HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire Chief Steven Beer said there were thank you messages written in chalk on the parking lots at the fire command and training center, station four and station one in Hutchinson Wednesday.
The department said in a Facebook post, "We appreciate the gesture and putting a smile on our face."
Firefighters have been less able to interact with the public in recent days due to social distancing requirements because of COVID-19, but the department has started doing enrichment activities on Facebook Live in the afternoons at 3 p.m.
