HUTCHINSON, Kan — The City of Hutchinson is placing further restrictions on public meetings. The city announced that effective immediately, all non-essential city board and committee meetings are canceled until further notice.

Essential meetings with time-sensitive material will take place remotely. Our Eagle radio stations and hutchpost.com along with the city website will provide previews and agendas.

City Council meetings will take place at City Hall as scheduled, however, City Hall will remain closed to the public. City Council meetings can be viewed on YouTube channel, the City’s Facebook page, or watch on Channel 7. You can still reach all council members via phone or email, their contact information is posted at http://www.hutchgov.com/254/City-Council

The Kansas Attorney General has proposed temporary regulations and best practices regarding the Kansas Open Meetings Act which the city says they will adhere to while ensuring transparency to city residents and ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers and elected officials in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For questions or concerns, please call City Hall at (620) 694-2611.
