HUTCHINSON, Kan. — With the nice weather, you can still get out and play a round of golf in Hutchinson.
Carey Park Golf Course is still open, but with some restrictions. Tee times have been spread out to every 16 minutes. The driving range is open, but access to the clubhouse is restricted to one customer at a time. The cafe is closed, but packaged food and bottled drinks are available.
Ball washers and bunker rakes have been removed and flagsticks will be sanitized every day, as will the golf carts.
Also, after being open on a limited basis, the Hutchinson Zoo has closed until further notice because of the CDC and Reno County Health Department recommendations regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). All camps, events and rentals have been canceled or will be rescheduled.
The zoo’s staff will continue working to care for the nearly 200 animals that reside on-site. Additionally, this time will be used to complete updates and maintenance projects that are harder to accomplish with visitors in the zoo.
As with other local attractions, a deep cleaning and disinfecting will occur before the zoo reopens to the public.
