HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department is doing community engagement a different way, on Facebook.
There will be Facebook videos at their page at 3 p.m. a few times a week starting Monday.
This will include live streaming and include such things as tours of HFD’s 6 fire stations, children will learn about the equipment used by firefighters, they can see and tour the engines and ladder trucks.
Kids will also learn how to use a fire extinguisher and how to help with cooking in the kitchen using kitchen safety techniques. There will be visits from Fire Pup and some fun exercises to get your blood pumping. Kids will also learn how sprinkler systems and smoke detectors can save lives.
