HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A special meeting was held Sunday evening by the Reno County Commissioners and Health Department Director Nick Baldetti.

The meeting was held due to the recent health order issued on Saturday. The County Commission is not only the governing body of the county but also the health board by law. During Sunday's meeting Baldetti asked County Administrator Randy Partington and County Counselor Joe O'Sullivan to put together legal language that would be used for a potential shelter in place ordinance.

Baldetti wanted to stress that such action is not being considered at this time but could not rule out that it is possible in order to keep the spread of COVID-19 down.

Baldetti announced Sunday afternoon that a second presumptive positive case of COVID-19 had been reported. He also wanted to stress how imperative it was for those who have been given quarantine orders to adhere to them and not venture out. Also if you feel you may have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 that you call your health care provider or the health department first and not go to the clinic or hospital. If they feel you need to come in they will give you instructions of how to proceed.
