PHILLIPSBURG — Two Phillipsburg residents were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges following the execution of a search warrant.&nbsp;

"At approximately 1:15 p.m., we executed a search warrant in the 100 block of B Street in Phillipsburg with the assistance of Rooks County Sheriff's K9 Deputy Kota and his driver," according to an announcement by the Phillips County Sheriff's Department.

"As a result, Derek J. Shields, 31, and Nicole Dechant, 28, both of Phillipsburg, were taken into custody with charges pending for possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp."

Shields was convicted of drug possession in 2010, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.
