HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson USD 308 school district is going through calendars and work schedules as it waits to see what the state’s task force will do to keep education moving forward in light of the school shutdown.

The biggest challenge going is making sure online services are available to students. District Spokesperson Ray Hemman says nearly one-third of the district’s students do not have access to the internet. Getting lessons to those students will be one of the issues to be discussed.

Hemman says, once the task force makes its announcement this evening, the district will meet and decide what direction to take including the meal program, which was already put in place this week.
