NICKERSON, Kan. — Two other small school districts also meeting to discuss the closing of schools for the year. In Nickerson, the USD 309 School Board will meet at 7 p.m. this evening to decide what action to take following the state’s decision on Tuesday.
The board will discuss the closing of school and what action to take for the district’s employees as well as the meal program that started on Tuesday.
The Board will also consider the purchase of Chromebooks for students. The purchase was to be considered in April but with classes shut down the computers are needed now so action will be taken on that matter this evening.
In Haven, the USD 312 School Board will also discuss how Tuesday’s action will affect them. The Board will also discuss payments to employees during the shutdown and go into executive session for a personnel matter. That meeting is set for 9 a.m. Thursday at the school district offices in Haven.
