In a message to students posted on social media Tuesday, HutchCC said that at the conclusion of Spring Break, it is our expectation face-to-face classes, in non-Career and Technical fields, will remain suspended and will transition to an alternate delivery format for the remainder of the semester. If you have questions, you should contact your advisor.
Knowing this, HutchCC Housing students will be available to officially check out the week of March 16, 2020. You are not required to move out; we are only making this opportunity available to you.
Should you elect to do so, you should take all of your belongings, defrost your refrigerator, clean your room & go through the Express Check-Out Process by 2:00 pm on Friday, March 20.
Students who are encouraged to considering staying in Campus Housing include:
1) Students who are in AAS Degrees (Associate of Applied Sciences – ex: Allied Health Students, Welding, Cosmetology, Computer Sciences, Auto Body & Collision, Fire Science and more) – we can help you determine if you qualify for this.
2) Students who do not have a computer and/or internet access at their home
3) International Students
If you do not fit one of the above categories but believe you have a compelling reason to stay, please email [email protected] and explain your situation. These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Expectations of students who choose to remain:
•Students will be expected to practice social distancing, which has been shown to slow a disease outbreak. This mean we reduce the number of time & places people gather in numbers or spend extensive time together. This is necessary for the greater good.
•No visitation – this means no one from outside the dorm is allowed to visit
•Lobbies & pool tables are not available for use – residents should not be congregating
•Students should limit interactions in public spaces such as bathrooms and laundry rooms
•Maintain a distance of six feet from others
