
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Amtrak’s SW Chief was snagged up in a derailment in Colorado Sunday evening making for a very late arrival in Hutchinson Monday.
According to Andy Williams with BNSF two locomotives and two cars of a freight train left the tracks around 5:45 p.m. near Lamar, Colorado. The tracks are expected to reopen by late this evening.
The eastbound SW Chief got to Hutchinson about nine hours late.
