HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Here is the latest from the Reno Co. Health Department. As of Saturday morning, Reno County does not have any positive cases of COVID-19.
It is the recommendation of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Reno County Health Department to limit public events to 100 people or less.
Should events under the 100-person threshold take place, social distancing should be exercised as well as prudence in time spent within enclosed areas with others.
Social distancing constitutes limiting the distance between persons to six feet when applicable and spending no more than 10 minutes within the said six-foot area.
Personal judgement should be exercised in limiting all non-essential gatherings.
There is currently no broad recommendation for school cancellations or closures. Social distancing should be exercised operationally as is feasible.
The health department highly encourages Reno County residents to be dependent on health authorities to provide the most accurate information on COVID-19.
As always, please practice good hygiene with frequent hand washing, proper respiratory etiquette such as coughing into your elbow bend, limit handshakes and other physical contact. Most of all, if you're sick stay at home and contact your physician to discuss your symptoms.
