HUTCHINSON, Kan — The Hutchinson City Council will deal with two matters regarding the City Manager’s position during Tuesday’s meeting.
The first is the approval of an agreement with incoming City Manager Jeff Cantrell. Cantrell’s new contract calls for a salary of around $163,000 plus benefits. He is expected to begin his duties in Hutchinson May 15th.
The other is an extension of current City Manager John Deardoff’s contract through the beginning of May. Deardoff was to retire at the end of this month but will stay on until Cantrell takes over.
Also Tuesday the Council will consider the lease agreement with the Sheriffs Department for the Law Enforcement Center and take action on a grant from KDOT for a runway and taxiway maintenance project for the airport for $263,700.
Tuesday’s meeting of the Hutchinson City Council begins at 9 a.m. at the Hutchinson city offices.
