 </figure>HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Superior Boiler LLC is expanding. The company located at 4th and Airport Road is planning to move its production line from Richmond, Virginia to Hutchinson in the next year. Plans are to move into what was to be the Public Restroom production building. Public Restroom had planned to expand into Hutchinson, but those plans were canceled. The building is currently leased to Siemens for warehouse needs. Siemens will remain a tenant in the building until February 2021. Superior will then start closing the Richmond facility and moving equipment to Hutchinson. Some of the key positions will likely be relocated to Hutchinson with other positions being hired locally. The company is asking for an incentive package to help with the move. Based on City policy and the estimated number of new jobs the City would be looking at an overall job payment grant of $78,000. Potentially there could be a 20% bonus if the Company hits 50 plus jobs which would add another $15,300. Current policy requires the job creation period and earning incentive period to not exceed three years. This project is scheduled for a four-year ramp up. Under existing city policy, all job incentives will be earned once the jobs have been sustained for four consecutive quarters and the applicant files the affidavit verifying the information. Superior estimates they will create a total of 52 net new jobs over a 4-year period beginning in 2021.&nbsp;Some of the job growth could be related to new projects in their existing facility. Most of the new jobs will pay above the $21/hr threshold for the highest tier of incentive money from the City. Reno County is also expected to pony up a job incentive package equal to that of the city. The job incentives will be paid out of the Economic Opportunity Fund (EOF). The matter goes before the Hutchinson City Council during their Tuesday meeting.

Superior Boiler plans to bring Richmond facilities to Hutchinson
