HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cosmosphere took another step forward in its redesign of the Hall of Space Museum with a major install project that started Monday morning.
Jim Remar with the Cosmosphere says they are almost ready to give visitors full access to the museum again.
“Yeah, we’re excited with the final install this week,” Remar said. “Starting this weekend we’ll open up our CosmoKids discovery area.”
Remar says the new interactive display is something that was long overdue.
“We have heard for years, 'great museum but nothing for my child,'” Remar said. “Now we finally have something to offer families with youngsters.”
The Cosmosphere is also working on a major renovation to the classroom and space camp areas of the museum to offer more hands-on activities and updated equipment.
If all goes as planned, the new museum area will open completely on Monday, March 16.
