HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church will have its 66th Annual Pancake and Sausage Feed Saturday.
"It's kind of a tradition that we do," said Mike Foster with the church. "We did it when the church burnt back 66 years ago. There are 300 pounds of sausage that we fry up and then we mix our own pancakes."
The labor of love takes months to put together.
"We really start thinking about it and preparing in September," Foster said. "Whoever comes to church, we welcome them to help. We need all the help we can get."
You don't have to have a ticket, just show up hungry.
"We went to a freewill offering about three years ago," Foster said. "It's whatever you feel."
The feed is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church at 56th and Pennington Road, one mile west of Hendricks.
