HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Salthawk Football Ultimate Tailgate Party Auction and Fundraiser is coming up this Saturday.
"Tickets cost $40 and we still have tickets available," said football parent Beth Akins. "People can pay ahead of time, either by Paypal or Venmo. That's at salthawkfootballauction@outlook.com or cash or checks can also be mailed to Hutchinson High School at 810 East 13th."
There will be several speakers at the event.
"The upcoming Senior football players are going to be there," Akins said. "It will be a nice opportunity to get to meet some of the actual football players. We'll have a couple of them actually speaking and then, we'll also have Randy Dreiling back to speak this year."
The Salthawk Football program is about much more than just the Varsity level.
"The community really does support kids getting out and being active," Akins said. "One of the things that the tailgate fundraiser does is try to help support kids getting out and getting involved. Part of the fundraiser does raise money to help provide scholarship money to get kids to the summer camps."
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Cottonwood Court Building on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, with barbecue and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available as well as opportunities to purchase items in a live and silent auction.
