
Gary D. Regehr, 81, passed away February 27, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 29, 1939 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Ratzlaff) Regehr.
Gary graduated from Inman High School with the class of 1957 and graduated from Emporia State University in 1961 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts and Education. Before obtaining a master’s degree in Industrial Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Gary owned and operated a custom wheat harvest business. He was an Industrial Arts teacher in Hill City, Salina and Osawatomie, an office manager at Kansas Job Service in McPherson and Newton, and a life-long farmer. Gary was a life-long member of Bethel Mennonite Church, president of ULAR Watershed, served on the State Board of Kansas Watersheds, and served as a board member at Pleasant View Home and Inman Museum.
Gary married Joan Thiessen, June 1, 1969 at Inman, KS. She passed away May 17, 1982. He then married Sharon E. (Martens) Ediger, August 3, 1985 at Buhler, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Doug (Tabatha) Regehr of Tonganoxie, KS; daughters, Terri Ediger (Steve Weber, Jodi (Mike) Danler all of Hutchinson and Leigh Chunn of Inman; a brother, Elmer Dean (Lois Ann) Regehr of Inman; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Joan.
Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at North Inman Cemetery. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Bethel Mennonite Church. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020 at Buhler Mortuary with family to meet with friends 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman Museum or Pleasant View Home in care of Buhler Mortuary, P.O.
