HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) announced Thursday that they received a $20,000 contribution from AT&T. The funds will be used to support KLETC’s statewide officer wellness training program.
“We appreciate AT&T’s generosity not only for its support of KLETC but for its demonstrated concern for the wellbeing of first responders throughout Kansas,” KLETC Executive Director Darin Beck said.
Studies show first responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. The safety, health and wellness symposium is designed to address this topic head-on. All Kansas first responders and their spouses will be able to learn from experts in the field about resources, best practices, and strategies for safety and wellness.
“Supporting first responders is a strong fit with our philanthropic interests and I hope this will increase awareness of AT&T’s FirstNet service,” Molly Kocour Boyle, President of AT&T Kansas said.
FirstNet is a nationwide wireless broadband network for first responders being built and deployed through a public-private partnership between the federal government and AT&T. FirstNet offers public safety a communications network built and customized to meet their needs.
