The next step in zoning for part of the county happens Tuesday

SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Following a public hearing last week, the Reno County Planning Commission will take action on a proposal to establish a zoning district in the southeast part of the county on Tuesday.

The action comes after residents in the area approached the county asking for the zoning regulations. The area is bounded by the county line to the east and Mayfield Road to the west and Fountain Green Road to Sun City Road north and south.

The Planning Commission has heard from citizens living in this area of the county requesting their property be zoned. Citizens have shown up in person at planning commission meetings and signed a petition requesting the southeast corner of Reno County be zoned.

Tuesday’s meeting of the Reno County Planning Commission begins at 4:30 at the Reno County Public Works facility at 600 Scott Blvd. in South Hutchinson.
