City Council sets times for City Manager interviews

Posted Feb 26, 2020 11:41 AM

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The final touches have been put on the interview questions for the finalists for the Hutchinson City Manager position.

The council met Tuesday afternoon and according to City Human Resources Director Tom Sanders, they looked at assessments given to the candidates and discussed the questions that will be asked in interviews to take place Thursday and Friday of this week.

The council has narrowed the field to five finalists. They have scheduled the interviews to begin at 11 a.m. both Thursday and Friday. The meetings will be almost completely in Executive Session, as the City Manager position is a non-elected personnel matter. As such, there will be no public portion of the interview process.

Current City Manager John Deardoff will retire at the end of March.
