Winter weather, flooding both risks in Reno County

Multiple weather threats will have an effect on Reno County this week.

First, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from noon to 9 p.m Tuesday.

The issuing message warns of snow showers with reduced visibility. Total snow accumulation to around 1 inch expected with locally higher amounts possible.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the afternoon and evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Also, a Flood Warning remains in effect for Cow Creek through Thursday.

According to the message from the National Weather Service, the creek will rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning and continue to rise to near 10.4 feet by early Thursday morning. The creek will fall below flood stage by Friday early afternoon.

At 10 feet, the low water crossing on Wilson Rd between 69th Ave to 82nd Ave floods.
