Man arrested after high speed chase

HUTCHINSON, Kan. β€” A Hutchinson man was taken into custody following a high-speed chase resulting from a domestic disturbance Sunday night.

Authorities took 25-year-old Braden White into custody just after 11 p.m. on suspicion of fleeing and eluding, domestic violence, a violation from protection from abuse order, leaving the scene of an accident and theft.

Police says White was riding in the car with the victim when an argument ensued. When she stopped the vehicle and called 911 he began to beat and choke the victim. He then took the car and drove away near 4th and Chemical. Police spotted the vehicle at 2nd and Chemical and began pursuing White. White raced west on 4th Avenue and failed to make a turn onto Maple. The vehicle struck a fire hydrant and rolled. White fled on foot but was captured a short time later.

White was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of bumps and bruises then booked into the Reno County Correctional Facility. He’s being held on a bond of $25,250.
