HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two people were arrested after a short chase through the city early Wednesday morning. Police report that 29-year-old Nicole Willard and 48-year-old Shawn Harris were taken into custody without incident.

Police say they spotted a vehicle in the back of the Kwik Shop at 17th and Monroe just before 2 a.m. When police tried to make contact, the car fled the area. Police followed until Willard stopped the vehicle at 18th and Harrison. Willard was taken into custody on suspicion of fleeing and eluding, DUI, and other driving violations. Harris was arrested for interference with law enforcement for giving officers a fake name, and possession of methamphetamine.

Both made their first appearances in court Wednesday morning and are being held in the Reno County Correctional Facility.
