
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will take action on two street maintenance programs for 2020 during Tuesday’s regular meeting.
The first contract is will APAC Shears for the arterial street maintenance project at a cost of $1.32 million. The street work will include E. 4th Avenue from Waldron to Airport Road; E. Avenue G from Plum to Williams Street; Plum from Avenue G to Carey Park and Enterprise Drive along the south side of Siemens Gamesa.
The second contract is for the residential street maintenance program. The contract with Circle C paving of Goddard totals $1,093,000. The cost is about 3% higher than the engineers’ estimates.
The work will include a large part of Severance Street from Avenue C to Blanchard. Streets in an area bounded by 11th and 16th Avenue and Walnut and Woodlawn streets will also see work. Another area of work will take place around the SW Bricktown neighborhood.
Tuesday’s meeting of the Hutchinson City Council begins at 9 a.m. at the Hutchinson city offices.
