HutchCC BOT to consider tuition and dorm fee increase

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees will give consideration to a two-dollar hike in tuition fees during Thursday’s monthly meeting. Under the proposal before them, tuition fees would go up to $93 per credit hour for in-state students and $124 for out-of-state. Tuition for foreign students would also increase by $2 to $133 per credit hour.

The board is also considering a rate hike for dorms and meals. Under the proposal, overall fees would increase by about 3% depending on the type of dorm and meal plan you purchase. Traditional residence hall prices would go up to as high as $7,000 per year. Suit prices would increase to a maximum of $7,600 and apartment prices would go up to a high of $7,700. Also Thursday, the board will elect a new chair and vice-chair and take care of various board appointments.

Thursday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Shears Technology Center on the HutchCC campus.
