Two women from Newton injured in violent I-70 crash

VICTORIA, Kan. — Two Harvey County residents were injured in an accident Wednesday morning in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a car driven by  63-year-old Cindy Sue Conlon, of Newton, was westbound on Interstate 70 near Walker Avenue.

Conlon failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, struck a cross over, went airborne and rolled once into the median.

Both Conlon and a passenger 25-year-old Caitlin Suzanne Conlon, also of Newton, were transported to Hays Medical Center. They were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. four-miles east of Victoria or about 12 miles east of Hays.
